GOOGLE DOCS

Today in class we learned how to create spreadsheets through google docs. This is the easiest way of making a spreadsheet I have ever learned to share with others everywhere. I feel that this type of technology will help teachers to share grades and all things with parents. If you have not tried google docs, you should. It is an excellent application.

THE FEARS OF BECOMING EFFECTIVE TEACHERS

Today I conversed with an  undergraduate from UNCA. We were exchanging our concerns of becoming teachers in the near future. This conversation was based on educating students identified with disablilities. Do any of you have the same concerns. I fear that I will not be able to meet every need of every child in my classroom. I honestly don't want to make any mistakes or overlook important issues dealing with the learners. We found out that advances in assistive technology will aid in teaching disable children such as those identified with LD, autism, and those with with multiple disabilities

BLOGS IN THE CLASSROOM

Use of new and pervasie technology in the classroom

Greetings and Salutations,
The internet is increasingly becoming a persistent influence in the life of education in today's society. Being an undergraduate at NCA&T I have noticed that technology is not only a part of the younger generation in education, but in the education of the older generation as well. It has been exhibited in my eyes, that in my future endeavors of becoming an elementary teacher, the internet will aid in engaging and retaining the attention of my students. I have recently gained the knowledge of how blogs are extremely helpful in all apects of life. Being a teacher and requiring your students to create and utilize their blogs often will allow the students to learn beyond the schoolyard. Blogs build relationships among people everywhere. It allows the student and teacher to relieve any type of stress from struggles and obstacles, while finding others who have overcame the same barriers that have been placed in front of you. Teachers can also find effective methods or strategies that have been proven to useful in the classroom from instructors all over the world. The bond between a teacher and a student, a teacher and a collegues. a teacher and a parent, or even students and peers can strenghten enormously through the usage of blogs. Here a teacher can find out what is bothering a student in order to help and communicate with a parent, who may not have time for a face to face conference. Blogs are also the place to receive feedback from people across the nation on any subject available. I feel that the utilization of a blog is a motivational element for both teachers and students in a classroom. Blogs are an exhuburant creation and will be around for a number of years to come.

The Brain of An Aggie

P.S. If there are any educators out there who use blogs as a method of learning in the classroom please respond with your acheivements. I would love to learn from you.
Thank you so much!
